Touché is a new sensing technology that proposes a novel Swept Frequency Capacitive Sensing technique that can not only detect a touch event, but simultaneously recognize complex configurations of the human hands and body during touch interaction. This allows to significantly enhances touch interaction in a broad range of applications, from enhancing conventional touchscreens to designing interaction scenarios for unique use contexts and materials. For example, in our explorations we added complex touch and gesture sensitivity not only to computing devices and everyday objects, but also to the human body and liquids. Importantly, instrumenting objects and material with touch sensitivity is easy and straightforward: a single wire is sufficient to make objects and environments touch and gesture sensitive.

We demonstrate the rich capabilities of Touché with five example setups from different application domains and conduct experimental studies that show gesture classification accuracies of 99% are achievable with our technology.

Conferentie Onderwijs & ICT Atelier

Als kennispartner voor het onderwijsveld wil Windesheim onderwijsinstellingen inspireren en aanzetten tot creatieve innovatie en ontdekking van nieuwe kennis op het gebied van ICT & Onderwijs. Vier vragen staan hierbij centraal:

Welke ICT-toepassing kan met effect ingezet worden in het vakonderwijs?
Hoe kan ik ICT inzetten om onderwijs te ondersteunen?
Hoe zorg ik er voor dat ICT een succes wordt in mijn school?
En voor degene die verder kijken: is afstandsonderwijs ook inzetbaar in mijn organisatie?
Tijdens deze conferentie wordt antwoord gezocht op deze vragen. U kunt als deelnemer achterover leunen en luisteren, maar u mag ook actief meedoen! Het enige wat we vragen: blijf wel bij de les!

Gastsprekers

In de ochtend verzorgt dr. Jo Tondeur, postdoc-onderzoeker bij het Fonds voor Wetenschap en Onderwijs in België een lezing over de inzet van ICT in de lerarenopleiding. Hierin staat de afweging centraal: waar positioneer ik ICT? Zet ik het apart, of integreer ik ICT in het vakonderwijs? Voor beiden is wat te zeggen. Dr. Jo Tondeur belicht dit dilemma vanuit wetenschappelijk onderzoek.

In de middag is er een keynote van Michel van Ast. Michel houdt zich bezig met ‘de volgende stap’: hoe kunnen we binnen de klas en binnen de school een volgende stap met ICT maken?

De onderwijs & ICT-markt op de conferentie kent vier sectoren waar bezoekers inspiratie en kennis kunnen opdoen en uitwisselen:

Tijdens de conferentie worden twee cloudshops georganiseerd: workshops waarin u actief een bijdrage kunt leveren. U mag zelf het podium betreden en in vier minuten aan de zaal uitleggen wat uw favoriete webtool is. Tien sprekers per ronde brengen zo hun tool aan de man. Interesse in deelname? Two or three hundred thousand lines of code later, we’ve figured out how to use the Leap to create an interaction space around your computer, in 3D. Able to distinguish thumbs from fingers, and even handheld items like pencils. This allows users to interact like never before, using only natural movements.

And we went a step further. You will be able to create custom gestures that fit how you want to use your computer. You can even network more than one Leap device, to create even larger interaction areas.

We’ve been able to link Leap to dozens of applications and operating systems.

But this is just the beginning. As our development community builds, who knows what the future holds?

BGR has learned from a reliable source that Microsoft is currently planning to release the company’s full Office suite for not only Apple’s iPad, but for Android tablets as well. The company is targeting November of this year for both launches. Additionally, our source has seen Microsoft Office running on an iPad first-hand and has said that it looks almost identical to the previous leak from The Daily a few months back, despite the fact that Microsoft flat out denied that the app was authentic. It is also plausible that Microsoft Office will be coming to the iPhone and iPod touch rather than only the iPad, as we’re told the loading screen in the app clearly said “Office for iOS” and not just iPad.

Bij  de firma Penn Da Benn, een boerderij met koeien (13 zuivel) die nu met trots zijn op het dragen van een kraag met een “QR-code” Het systeem is sinds begin mei. Als nu, een wandelaar passeert in de buurt van vee wordt deze uitgenodigd om  koeien te scannen met hun smartphone.
Een kraskaart spel, genaamd “Gratt’meuh” wordt dan weergegeven, die vereist dat  drie koeien te tonen op het scherm om te winnen. De beloning: bestaat uit een liter melk en yoghurt,  4 producten uit melk van de boerderij. Wat helpt, het bevorderen producten aan de spelers, en loyaliteit. Deze innovatieve interactieve game op de boederij bracht tot op heden, zo’n veertig mensen , zegt de boer.
